We’re excited to celebrate two amazing members of the Willow Springs team: Mr. Shiloh Walden and Ms. Heather Miller.
Mr. Walden, our dedicated high school agriculture teacher, inspires students daily with his passion for education. His innovative approach to teaching and genuine care for his students leave a lasting impact in and beyond the classroom.
Ms.
Miller, our amazing middle school social studies teacher, consistently goes above and beyond. Her dedication, positive energy, and commitment to her students and colleagues make her an invaluable part of our Bear family.
Thank you, Mr. Walden and Ms. Miller, for your outstanding contributions to our schools and community. You truly embody what it means to be part of the Willow Springs Bear family.

Summer School at the High School is ONLY for credit recovery and/or attendance recovery.
There is not an enrollment form. Information will be shared with students and parents if students need to attend for credit recovery and/or attendance recovery.
Students need to show up at the front door of the high school by 7:45 a.m. on the first day of the session they plan to attend. There are two sessions and a student can attend either one or both according to what they need to recover.

Join us Thursday, April 25th for Senior Project Night!🌟
Each year, every senior at Willow Springs High School must complete a capstone project and give a final presentation about their project.
Students select a topic, profession, or social problem that interests them, conduct research on the subject, maintain a portfolio of findings or results, create a final product demonstrating their learning acquisition or conclusions, and give an oral presentation on the project to a panel of teachers, experts, and community members.
The showcase will be in the Bears Den from 3:30-5:00 pm where community members can view all of the projects. Presentations will begin at 4:00 pm.
We will have livestream links for the presentations soon.

Willow Springs High School senior, Maddie Poor was honored at the Missouri Scholars 100 Banquet over the weekend for being named one of the top academic students in the state of Missouri!
Missouri Scholars 100 is a competitive program that invites schools across the state to nominate candidates based on academic excellence. The selection process employs a formula considering the student's grade point average and ACT or SAT scores. Nominees must meet the criteria of an "Academic Decathlon," successfully navigating ten challenging academic events to showcase their scholastic strength.
To qualify, students must hold a minimum GPA of 3.750, a minimum ACT score of 29 or a minimum SAT score of 1,280, rank in the upper ten percent of their class, and engage in advanced coursework in mathematics, science, English, and foreign language. Additionally, nominees must exhibit excellent attendance, exemplary citizenship within the school, and active participation in the school's activity program.

Over 30 schools competed - Maddie Poor placed 3rd in Algebra and Kaylee Pendergrass placed 3rd in American Government in our division!

Weather postponements:
- The West Plains Golf Classic has been rescheduled for tomorrow, March 26th. Tee Time will be at 8:30 am at the WP Country Club.
- High school and middle school softball at Norwood today has been canceled.
- High school and middle school baseball against Winona today have been postponed.
Willow Springs High School students Madison Bay and Kaylee Pendergrass participated in the Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) Legislative Shadowing Project on February 28, 2024.
Lindsey Ryan is the local chapter adviser and accompanied the students to the Capital City. Sponsored by the Missouri Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA), the program provides an opportunity for junior and senior high school students to spend a day with their state representative, senator or other public official at the State Capitol. The students observe hearings, meetings and other public duties.
The Legislative Shadowing Project, now in its 23rd year, is conducted by Missouri FCCLA, the Career and Technical Student Organization (CTSO) for Family and Consumer Sciences Education. A reception and opening session was held for participants on Tuesday, February 27. Tours of the State Capitol, Missouri Archives, Supreme Court Building and many others were provided.
The Legislative Shadowing Project allows students to connect their interests in law, public service, civic issues and the political process with their education. The event is designed to help students develop a better understanding of the political process and its impact on citizens. FCCLA attempts to match students with officials from their local school districts wherever possible. The students prepare for the event by becoming familiar with their official’s responsibilities and current issues. If matched with a legislator, the student becomes knowledgeable about the bills introduced and committees on which the legislator serves.
FCCLA is a nonprofit student organization for young men and women, grades 6-12, in family consumer sciences education. Missouri FCCLA has more than 8,500 members in nearly 300 local chapters, making it the tenth-largest FCCLA state association in the nation.
