The Willow chess team celebrated their end-of-season awards and held the club championship on Friday. Members were recognized in various categories and a champion was crowned based on tournament results. This year's club champion and best player on the team is Isaac Miller, who was also named high school MVP. In addition, Heidi Bennet was recognized as the elementary MVP and as the winner of the elementary section, while Kyell Robertson won the middle school section and Sabastian Puher came in third.
Willow middle school team clinched first place in the tournament, while the elementary team also took home the top trophy.
