On Monday evening, before the regular school board meeting, school board members met in Mr. Knapp’s class to learn about Project Lead The Way classes. Mr. Knapp talked about some of the things his classes are able to do including designing and making items for use at the school such as a key box and covers for door sensors as well as many other items. Mr. Knapp demonstrated the Glow Forge laser cutter and 3D printer. School board members also got to put together name tags that Mr. Knapp made for them on the 3D printer.
Mrs. Drake, the Middle School PLTW teacher was unable to attend, so Dr. Johnson filled the board in on some of the things happening in the Middle School PLTW classes. A lot of great things are going on in our schools and it was a good opportunity for the board members to see first hand some of what our students get to experience.
