Willow Springs Elementary School is pleased to announce the introduction of the Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program, set to begin on August 20, 2024. This initiative, made possible through a generous grant from the USDA, will offer our K-4th grade students the opportunity to explore and enjoy a variety of fresh fruits and vegetables.
The program is designed to introduce young students to a wide range of healthy, fresh foods, encouraging them to develop lifelong healthy eating habits. The fruits and vegetables provided will be new and exciting options, aimed at expanding their palates and fostering a love for nutritious eating.
"This program is a wonderful opportunity for our students to experience the benefits of fresh produce in a fun and educational way," said Regina Roberts, Food Service Director. "We are grateful for the USDA's support in making this program free for all of our K-4 students."
Parents and community members interested in learning more about the program are encouraged to contact Food Service Director Regina Roberts at robertsr@wspgs.com.
