The 4th/5th grade Willow Lady Bears basketball team won the championship at the Liberty Winter Shootout this past weekend and qualified for State in March! #OneWillow

The Willow Springs R-IV School District will be using Friday, February 16 and Monday, February 19 as weather make up days. We will be in session on Friday, February 16 and Monday, February 19.

Game Day!!! Tonight we celebrate our seniors as the Boys Basketball team hosts the Cabool Bulldogs. JV game begins at 6:00 PM followed by the Varsity game. Senior ceremony will be held between the JV and Varsity game. Bear Media will broadcast the varsity game on the Willow Bears Youtube Channel. Go Bears!!

Due to the potential of winter weather today. There will be no school in Willow Springs on Monday, February 12.

Join us on Tuesday, February 27th from 5-7 pm for our Elementary Family Fun Night and Community Showcase! The Community Showcase is a way our district can share the amazing opportunities our students have when they step into the classrooms of the Willow Springs School District. Community members and Bear families will be able to experience projects completed in a variety of content areas. Some teachers and students will showcase different activities that attendees can experience for themselves. The Elementary School will have crafts set up in the cafeteria, the book fair will be going on in the library and chromebooks will be available for AR testing. There will also be food trucks set up!

The Willow Springs High School Book Club recently visited the Barnes and Noble in Springfield to listen to author Christopher Paolini talk about his new book "To Sleep in a Sea of Stars" and The Inheritance Cycle!📖 The students had a great time! #OneWillow

The middle school staff member of the week is Mrs. Amber Lewis!✨ About Mrs. Lewis: "I have been teaching for 12 years. I have always taught in the Willow Springs School District. My first 8 years in the district, I taught 4th grade in the elementary, but for the last 4 years I have taught 5th grade science in middle school! Science has always been my favorite subject, and I LOVE getting to teach what I am most passionate about to my amazing students! I love being a teacher in the middle school! I love spending time with my family, cats, chickens, and bunnies! I also love growing plants, produce, and flowers on our small farm!" Game Day!! Tonight is the Battle of the Bears, as we go on the road to play the Ava Bears in an SCA contest. Tonight's action begins at 5:00 PM with a full 4 quarters "C" team game, followed by the JV and Varsity Bears. You can catch the broadcast on 100.3 FM.

This past Saturday, the High School Computer Science team took part in the first ever Mizzou Hackathon in Columbia. Matt Sabulao, Jack Thompson, Garrett Dickens, Matthew Streng and Kayden Wood spent the day solving coding challenges and developing the code for a computer game. Jack Thompson and Matthew Streng tested their skills in the expert section of the competition, winning second place and a cash prize for their game that was coded in just four hours. Special thanks to a former graduate and a Mizzou Computer Science major, Martin Leija for help and guidance during the competition. Martin was one of the main organizers of the Hackathon at Mizzou. #OneWillow
